Where God is in Waiting For What You Need, Getting Something Different, and Desired Change Seems Non-Existent

Day by day, there’s anticipation. Anticipation, at times, can be exciting, worth not knowing what’s coming when the other side of anticipation has a sweet aroma of gladness to what we feel is going to happen next that’s pleasant. In these times, though, anticipation has reeked with anxiety due to uncertainty of what’s going, or not going, to happen in regards to all the unpleasantness around us.

Then, it’s gotten even more difficult, in that normally, we could do something about some of it, but now we cannot do. We could go and momentarily forget certain events we’d rather not think about, whether they’re in our home or out in our communities. We could take on another job or two, if the one we had didn’t pan out or pay enough. Or, we could simply get a sincere and much needed hug from a loved one. But, now, for the sake of not making bad matters worse we must make some rightful sacrifices, such as; staying at home, taking a pay cut for those of us who cannot work, and unfortunately bare the walls of separation to keep from spreading degradation, until this is under greater control or is completely over.

What I want to encourage you, as you read this, is that though it feels like you’ve lost a lot, there’s plenty you are gaining, and can gain. Acknowledging this, and choosing to receive it, puts you in a winning position. For, life is never 100% without struggle, without disappointment, nor without loses, but it never has to be, in any capacity without some percentage of beneficial increase. For, this Beloved of God, is how The Lord turns what was meant for your harm around for the good! It’s a matter of…

Enduring the Wait for What You Need

Like said in Kirk Franklin’s song “Looking Out For Me”, know that The Lord Jesus is looking out for you! The two verses I especially love in this song is:

“And then I tried you and just

When I was about to fall

Your love caught me when your name I called

Jesus You keep on looking out for me

Remember when the doctor said

He said he couldn’t help you and

Remember when the money was getting low

You’re hurting now your feeling low and just

When you thought the night would never end

The sun came out now you can smile again

Jesus you keep on looking out for me”

These are fitting words for such a time as this, when your fears are telling you that sickness is stronger that you and smarter than your doctors; telling you the economy of the world doesn’t like your kind; telling you there’s no hope, no future. They embody the Goodness of Jesus who comes and tells those fears to disapear, because per John 8:44; “…the devil… is a liar and father of lies!” And, Beloved, “unhealthy fear” is the devil’s greatest and most used tool.

Truth is, God is not simply an arbitrary Master Spirit in the sky as I once thought of Him as many years ago. He’s active through His Spirit, His Holy Angels, and Devoted & Obedient Human Servants, in ways that greatly and positively impacts the tangible world. He hasn’t forgotten about you, and so I encourage you not to forget about Him but include Him in your daily life. It’s then when you’ll begin to see, that as you do everything you “can” do with Integrity, whatever it is that you, your doctors, family, friends & colleagues, cannot do, He will make that happen. Because, Truth is, we all as Human Beings have limitations, limitations that simply cannot meet some aspects of what you need. In doing this, you increase in resourcefulness, in tapping into everything available to you in the natural realm: your community, your state, your country, etc., while at the same time, tapping into a Powerful Resource that’s like NO other when the Holy God is your Principal Source!

Beloved, a common fear the enemy uses against you is that “no one will help you”. Once again, the devil is a liar. First and foremost, as Psalm 121:1,2 says; “…From where does my help come? My help comes from The LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Secondly, there are people, not that you should look to them ONLY, who are the right people for you. People that are of Kindred Spirit, like-minded, and like-hearted. People who sincerely want you to Win at all that’s your Divine Right to achieve, that God has intentionally placed in strategic positions to help His people. And, any who chooses Faith in The Lord, instead of fear of others, will not succumb to threats of punishment for “Right” doing, will lend you a helping hand in whatever capacity God has planned, in due time. So, though distanced due to circumstances, know you are not alone! While you wait by keeping busy doing your part, letting, and relying on, God do His, see the benefit in…

Getting What You Never Thought You Needed

During situations you seemingly have no control over, when you need to take a job, for example, that you thought you’d never need to take; or, you ended up doing something, though upright, you still would’ve never willingly chosen to do, if you had known the details beforehand, know that The Lord has a reason for you to be there in this season.

This happened to me twice, that I’m aware of, over the last three years. Here, I’ll just share one, wherein in my company Cornerstone Solid Hope, I originally started out providing Relationship Enhancement Coaching, one of three of my areas of expertise, but ended up on one assignment that had me involved in “Business” Relationship Coaching, which was something I never really thought of doing, and wasn’t offering until I took an assignment where it was sprung on me in its interim. And, what I realized soon thereafter was how The Lord purposed it to prepare me for a larger assignment within His calling for me that I had known about for several months, but wasn’t quite sure of all it entailed, yet. As God does this, He’s giving you Provision for the Divine Vision!

The Lord did this with Moses, as he was in the wilderness for quite some time, where he had to be “prepared” to be Shepherd of The Lord’s flock, before he was sent on to his work for God. Knowing where Mose grew up, you’d think this was an undesirable downgrade, but it was a path to be Upgraded! So was Jesus in His wilderness just before He embarked on His Ministry, where He had to be “prepared” for the challenges of the opposer of His call to ensure He carries it out successfully by understanding and appropriately handling what He was up against. And, so did Joseph go through his wilderness as he was betrayed by those he should’ve been able to trust the most, yet, it didn’t break him, it didn’t ruin him, it built him up to be one of a nation’s most dependable leaders! Whatever the wilderness is for you, that place you would’ve never gone, that thing you would’ve never chosen, but was thrusted upon you, it’s preparing you for what you’re going to do!

So, don’t look down on yourself if you had to choose to take on tasks or experiences, whether professional or personal, that you never thought you’d need to take on, because it could very well be providing you with something you Need, aside from money, that you never even knew you needed!

There’s Change in Seemingly No Change

“When will this CHANGE! I can’t take this anymore!” The devil, that’s putting that in your head, is a liar! Philippians 4:13 says; “I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me!” And, it is my prayer for you that you begin to regularly Agree with it, Embody it, & over yourself Speak it! As you do, the strength you think you don’t have to press onward will rise up and surprise you when you find yourself saying I could only get through it with the presence of God in my life.

Next, think of change like an onion. There’s different layers of areas where change for the best can happen. Also, like an onion, the change process may have you in tears, but it can at times be tears of Gratefulness, not always having to be from tears of sorrows or fears. What doesn’t look like it’s changing in your outward circumstances, creates a domino affect that initiates changes in deeper layers of your being, in deeper layers of your life. It’s up to you to decide to make sure the changes that are happening, when the ones you want aren’t yet happening, help you grow better and not bitter. It’s helps to know that everything, beloved, works together for the good for those who love The Lord. He will not let you fall.

When nothing seems like it’s moving, Beloved, The Lord doesn’t stand still. God is on the move! Doing things behind the scenes that you cannot yet detect. And, this can increase Patience in you, if you let it. Waiting for Divine Timing isn’t always easy, but it’s best to not run before it, so not to make bad matters worse. Don’t let Microwave Mentality inappropriately and insufficiently cook your sustenance, when it needs to be slow cooked for good reasons! For, soon you’ll see the change you can’t yet see!

This, Beloved, is what can help with worry and anxiety; knowing that when you can’t see a way God will make a way out of no way, especially when He wants it done His way. Here’s where you do what you can within reasonable boundaries, and let God do what you can’t. Resourcefulness, Resiliency, and eventually Restoration, along with peacefulness and gratefulness, can and will be yours. It’s just a matter of using what you already have at hand, with God in the mix; shifting your perspective off the problem and on to the promise; and remembering that you may not be able to see the change of a seed newly planted for quite some time, but during that time change is happening! And, you will soon Bloom right where you’re planted!

Taking a Step Forward: When Trust in God is an Issue

As with any relationship with any human, building trust is a process. You meet someone new, and wisely, you open up only to the basics, you convene in public places, and you each gradually become more trustworthy to each other as you both remain authentic, considerate, and reliable. Building your Trust in The Lord is similar. In different stages of your relationship with Him, there’s testing, where trust seeking is bi-directional. God may give you a little to see how faithful you are with it, and when He sees you do well with it, He’ll provide the increase. But, I’ll teach about that direction of trust building another time in more detail. Know, for now, that what you do to be faithful with the little He gives you, are indicators to how much you Trust Him.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us; “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

In other words, what is faith, except simply Trust that who or what actually exists, and that, that particular someone will do something, or something will happen, according to what that person’s expressed. It’s difficult, however, to trust fully in someone you don’t know. You don’t know their quirks, strengths, foibles, talents, tendencies, etc. It’s usually not until you begin to see a consistent pattern of behavior, over time, that aligns with what they say, that a trustworthiness, or a distrust, depending on the types of behaviors and words expressed, exhibits itself in them. That’s why Trust in God starts with you choosing to diligently seek Him to…

Get to Know Him

For, Numbers 23:19, states; “God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” When keeping this in mind, it’s necessary to first recognize His voice, then understand His will for you in that particular situation. And, be patient because He does everything in His timing, which may not always match yours.

Get comfortable knowing that God never changes. Thus, His character is consistent throughout ages. This means it helps to “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.Hebrews 13:7&8 Not looking at temporal things, but at what those who have gone in The Lord’s ways before you, even in stories of the Holy Bible, can be encouraging to you to engage in trusting Him in similar ways.

For instance, one verse I lean on many times, and have seen God not only remind me of, but also hold true in my life, is what He said to Joshua when He appointed him as leader over His people to bring them into His Promise for them, is Joshua 1:5; “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” This has helped me go forward in extremely new and difficult tasks, sailing unchartered waters, The Lord’s assigned me to do, or experiences I’ve had to endure. And, God never fails! He comes through every time!

Years ago, as another example, when a friend of mine and I were on our Christ walk together, she encountered a couple of life struggles at the same time. Needless to say, it was quite stressful and worrisome for her. As we were early in our walks of faith, both of us what those of us in the faith often call “Babes in Christ”, we listened to each other’s woes, but most importantly prayed for each other. Throughout her trials and testing, there were timely periodic points where I could see God making a way out of no way for her. I remember one night sitting on the couch in my living room, lights off with only the TV on, speaking with her on the phone, exclaiming to her, “I see God all in this!”

Seeing the Hand of God in another’s life doesn’t mean that you always see them at the top of their game at that given moment, per se. Oft times, it’s seeing them at their lowest point and God stepping in at critical moments, as He guides, and sustains, not only what they need externally, but also what’s needed internally to be strong stable & assured mentally, spiritually, & emotionally.  For example, there were times in the midst of hardships I’ve gone through where I literally heard the enemy ask: “What is your weakness?”; “Why can’t I break you?” All because how God was a very present help in times of trouble. But, Beloved, how will you ever know this if you never…

Try Him

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Bread of Life. How can you know if you will like a food if you’ve never tried it? How can you know if an exercise technique won’t work for you if you never tried it consistently? How can you know if God is really who He says He is if you don’t give Him situations to allow you to try His ways in on a regular basis?

Depending on your level of faith, what you choose to place on His alter of Grace, may range from something minor like answering your prayer to help you get off work in time to get to the supermarket. Or, something more important, such as be your advocate in a job interview. It may be a trial or tribulation of your own that you don’t know quite how to rectify. You’ve done all you know how to do with integrity, and from your point of view you haven’t any further options, but you can give the rest to The Lord, who has options you just yet can’t see. However great or small it is, in order to try Him, you’ll need to Give Him something to Trust Him with to see that He is Trustworthy. Inevitably, during these times of tasting The Lord to see that He’s Good, you may have doubt, but I encourage you to…

Throw Doubt Out

No natural battle comes without a spiritual battle! There’ll be little messengers of satan speaking things into your spirit that’ll make you doubt God’s goodness, hoping with a wicked hope that you give up on Him. But, know you don’t have to receive from them what you know to be the opposite of God’s Word regrading your life! You have weapons that are not carnal that empowers you to Cast Doubt Out! You will win, child of the Most High God! You. Will. Win!

At times, that doubt might be “self” doubt, where you don’t believe you can do what God’s telling, or called, you to do. But, Beloved, self-doubt doesn’t have to count you out, when you Trust God & throw the doubt out! That’s your chance to diligently seek Him in that circumstance, and give that fear, that worry, to Him as you move forward in doing it, giving Him the chance to show you He is a Reliable God! You see, The Lord is Omniscient and Omnipotent! He knows every gift and talent He planted in you as He designed you, and later knitted you together in your mother’s womb. Some of those gifts and talents have slept dormant until His appointed time for them to awaken in you. And, it’s that step of faith, as you give Him a try, Child of God, to build Trust in Him, to walk by faith and not by sight in the direction He’s calling you to, until you begin to see that you are already Equipped!

Getting to know God better, giving Him something to Trust Him with, and effectively fighting battles of fears and doubt, will begin you on a journey towards building your trust in Him, while being guided at the same time. For, it’s His guidance that surfaces as you seek Him in your daily life, presenting you with opportunity to trust Him. It’s Your Time now, to start transitioning into increasingly Trusting The Lord, so you can reach full potential of your transformation, butterfly!

Lord, Most High God, may Your word be a lamp upon the feet, a light on the path of each reader, increasing their Trust in You, as they be led by Your Holy Spirit into all You have in store for them. In Jesus Name. Amen!

Ask LuKeisha Question: Does God Answer Normal Believers’ Prayers Like He Responds to Prophetic Pastors?

Several years back, when I recommitted my life to Christ, a friend who was with me as I began this Walk of Life, and was frustrated about her circumstances, was also a bit frustrated me. During our conversation, she emphatically expressed; “Not everybody hears God like you do, Keisha!” Being the beginning of my spiritual journey, I didn’t quite understand why she felt that way. But, now years later, after learning and understanding what can stand between God’s children hearing His Fatherly guidance, I can confidently say that God answers prayers of ALL of His people! I won’t say He always answers “Yes” because sometimes He answers communicating a “No”, “Not now”, or “I have something better for you.”

Truth is, not everyone is called to be a Prophet, but we all have basic levels of spiritual fittings that enables us to have ears to hear what the Spirit of God is saying, because we all have a spiritual aspect of our being. Some levels of these fittings are very high, crossing over into Godly gifts of the Holy Spirit that equips us for our callings. But, generally speaking, everyone, if having a willing spirit nurture their relationship with God, can discern answers to their prayers to Him. That being said, your prayers are being answered, but when not attuned into God’s voice, it can be difficult to realize He’s given you an answer.

Aside from actually hearing/seeing His answers, there are also times where answers to prayers can be delayed. I wrote an article about 7 Tips to Busting Prayer Blockers & Boost Your Blessings that gives you several reasons why you may not be seeing answers to your prayers.

Now knowing the Good News that God does answer prayers, even for those not called to be Prophets, keep in mind He answers them in various ways. At times, He may answer them directly, or sometimes through others, such as Prophets, providing you’re connected to ones God’s chosen to speak to you through. Using the article above, you can start today to unblock your prayers. And, if you find you have trouble recognizing when it’s really The Lord speaking, here’s a Free “Start or Improve Hearing the Voice of God Checklist”, a companion to my (Pod)Casting Potential episode, “4 Ways to Start or Improve Hearing the Voice of God”, that’ll help you to get started tuning into the frequency of the Voice of God. During you consistently trying out these tools & tips, I’ll be delighted to answer any additional questions that may arise, which you can send to my Ask LuKeisha page. And, I’d love to hear about your results, via your Breakthrough Testimony, as you Pray Without Ceasing!

Words Have Power! Here’s a Tool to Ensure They Use Clean Power!

As The Lord has raised and trained me up to prepare me for His Divine call on my life, as mentioned would happen regarding spiritual things in Hebrews 5:14, I’ve learned to discern when words many Good people intend to use for Good for others, can be spiritually tainted by the enemy and his workers of iniquity to cause harm. But God has given us weapons that are not carnal to be able to turn what is meant for harm around for the Good! And, one of them, one of the most important tools is prayer. Following is a much needed Prayer for…

  • Prophets of The Lord
  • Teachers/Preachers
  • Anchor People
  • Writers/Speakers/Podcasters
  • Politicians
  • Parents/Guardians
  • Leaders
  • Anyone who wants to Speak forth Good things!

… to pray, to let the enemy and any who work for him, attempting to sabotage your Good Works of The Lord, through your words, know that by the Glory of God, their tactics FAILED again, and will continue to fail, as you…

Use this Prayer to Protect & Ensure all your Words bring forth Things of God! Pray it periodically, especially when you discern something may be amiss in the spirit as you prepare to write or speak in any setting. And, as you do, be Blessedly Assured that I touch and agree with you for your words, through this prayer, to bring forth the Power of Unity in Prayer! May Jesus be in the Midst of us as we pray…!

Oh Sovereign God watch over the gates of my lips & let the Words of my mouth & the Meditation of my Heart be acceptable in Thy sight so they bring forth Good Fruit that Remains, according to Your Will!

How It’s Truly Possible to Find Success of Suffering

I once questioned, through tearful agony, “Why do I have to suffer punishment for wrongs others did to me!?” This soul search wasn’t triggered by enforcement of laws of the land, but an inner struggle, perceived weaknesses, that were at hand. Others may grapple with themselves, trying to understand why was it them who went through the same incident but they were ones of the few who survived. And, some do suffer punishment for their own ill-deeds, but still prefer full pardoned with mercy and grace.

Before arriving at success of suffering, it’s oft perceived as lashing discipline. And, yes, it can be: a discipline fostering correction, or a discipline fostering life’s direction, ideally a good one, providing it’s dealt with wisely. Does it all come from God? As a person of strong faith, I don’t believe so. Then, “If God didn’t send it, but allowed it to happen, does it mean He doesn’t love me?” Again, I don’t believe so.

Though, it can be a punishment from God, sometimes it’s not. For, there are those who suffer because they’re doing the Right thing, and experience it for nothing other than being a target of dark powers using covert coercive manipulations, through their own, and others’, malicious deeds to force and reduce you from all you truly are.

Regardless of the source, whether it be, for you, a test, or an arrest, it can bring the best. Deserved Punishment/suffering, if looked at from a perspective of humble heart, can result in learning a lesson in wisdom, a restoration of integrity, a gaining respect of self and others, and the opportunity to leave the past behind and shift into a new beneficial start. Undeserved punishment/suffering, again with a humble heart, can result in acquiring deeper understanding, healthier mental strength, & discovery of true self-identity.

As I mention learning from suffering, not solely in terms of “learning a lesson” as in having been punished to teach you a lesson. But, at times you go through a storm of life, to be taught a lesson that, unless you go through it, you’d never know underlying reasons why others go through it, which would leave you unequipped to help anyone else who may go through the same suffering with a mindset of “Why me!?!?”, instead of a mindset of;

“What do I need to learn from this experience?”

“What am I to do with what I’ve learned?”

Several years back, I thought I was going to lose everything I had worked for. And, when I say worked for, I mean worked in workaholic mode for about seven years. My co-op was at stake, as were my car and other possessions. But most importantly due to holding onto comfort, not wanting to suffer, most at stake was my mind.

More recently, endeavoring right things, as I’ll share my story in more detail at a later date, I lost everything, and Won; not avoiding the pain, it resulted in gain. Here I also, realized that unless you go through it, you’d never discover how gifted, valuable, and significant you inwardly truly are WITHOUT the house, title, 6-figure income, wardrobe, the other half who you so thought was the better half that made you greater! Truth is… suffering doesn’t have to shrink you, it can stretch you, preparing you for your appointment with Divine Destiny, requiring discovery of authentic self-identity.

Likening suffering’s painful process, with an Ancient Artifact, found beneath debris and rubble covering its authentic beauty and oppressed its usefulness over time, suffering can spark a heat strong enough to facilitate restoration that as with Gold, found mixed with the impurities of what takes place in its environment, a separation of the elements that has held you back from being the best you can be as Pure Gold takes place. Thus, allowing you to discover and uncover your unique design, enabling you to hit the reset button, directing you onto your most powerful path.

A strong vortex of a suffering storm, pulls on a person’s belief that their future is ruined. But, storms don’t mean Divine Destiny denied, instead they’re transportation into transformation. Truly, gifts and callings are irrevocable. So, no matter who or what stole things from you; your dignity, power, confidence; courage, seeds of potential of your innate makings are still in place, waiting to be cultivated better than before.

Suffering, is never solely about you, but others too; positively impacting their lives. Whether it happened long ago, or something you’re facing now, instead of focusing on suffering’s punishment, the success comes as you focus on betterment. For, what the storm tore down, can be rebuilt, better. And, what the storm took away that won’t be replaced, can make you, as an Agent of Change, an unstoppable Go Getter!

Why You Should Let Your Light So Shine, Even When Darkness Tries to Fight It

As I have grown more and more in the spiritual things of God, with more to grow into, I’ve developed more of an awareness, as so will you as you grow into the same, that many ways of the world have been strategically twisted to conceal what needs to be known. For example, that old adage, “what you don’t know won’t hurt you” is NOT always the truth. Many times it’s a tool of appeasement to keep you from probing deeper into what needs to be known. Yes, it may not hurt you if you didn’t know that I ate a slice of pizza today, but it would hurt you if you did not know someone embezzled money from offshore accounts in relation to something that affects you. This is partially what The Lord refers to in Hosea 4:6, where it states; “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge…” This is not necessarily referencing knowledge we learn in school, but additionally & first & foremost, knowledge of God, AND… knowledge of other happenings we don’t know but should.

In that verse, God was speaking to spiritual leaders who had turned away from Him to self-indulge on their own desires, worshipping idols that fed those desires stoked with jealously of others who were or seemed more blessed or better fit for the work He called them to. All the while, influencing the people who followed them to follow their idolatrous ways.  This caused the people, from all walks of life, to stray away from The Lord, and follow immoral ways that were against His will. Imagine how this affects society; our school, economic, healthcare, and government systems, to say the least.

When used appropriately, Truth is Light, and Light is Power. God is Light. James 1:17 mentions God as the Father of Lights. In John 1:9, Jesus is described as the “…True Light…”, and in John 1:5, it’s explained that “… the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Much can be read into the phrase “…darkness did not comprehend it.” In other versions, such as the NIV, it states that “…darkness has not overcome it.” For, the sake of the context of this article, I will stick to the concept of darkness’ lack of comprehension of the light.  For, there are many who operate in darkness who cannot understand the benefit of the light.

John 16:8 teaches us about the Holy Spirit that, “…when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.” God Loves You! God Loves ALL of us, and that’s why He’s sent us His Spirit to help us out of the blindness of walking in darkness. The conviction that the Holy Spirit brings, in addition to comfort and wise counsel, is NOT to condemn but to steer us FROM ways that bring Divine condemnation! And, I want to remind you, Jesus’ Work on the Cross does not abolish the law, but fulfills the law by giving us two major things: a Final Sacrifice for Atonement for Sin AND the Holy Spirit, which when we accept Him and don’t continuously and deliberately grieve Him, empowers us to turn from our own ways of living to God’s ways of living.

Luke 8:17 says “For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and illuminated.”

As Jesus was from the beginning with God, according to John 1:1, and is the same yesterday today and forever, we see in Ezekiel chapter 8 where God revealed all detestable things done in darkness in His temple. He had Ezekiel probing into walls and closed doors, discovering the messy misconduct that went on behind them. This was not to equip Ezekiel to gossip or use truth to hurt anyone by slander, but it was to set things right to help the innocent affected, as well as to give people who did those deeds a chance to accept God’s grace, experience His hope, and escape Divine judgement.

Know, beloved of God, that condemnation isn’t only referencing that which comes for eternity, but what happens right here in the land of the living. Without the light, secret and shameful things go on in the dark; behaviors that would continue, at times, simply because no one knows about them. How many do you know who told the truth about some shameful deed done in the dark but was threatened shunned and ignored, so those evil deeds continued? It only takes to know one, to understand that point of view. And, perhaps, that one person was you.  Children taken advantage of because those taking the advantage won’t allow anyone in, who will discover and uncover what they do to the children. Or, people getting fired because they know too much of dirty truth, and so are seen as liabilities to the organization’s underhanded and undercover standard operating procedures that keep them functioning. Without warning, Divine retribution is bound to come to those responsible for those dark deeds while The Lord protects & shields the innocent. Which is why entire nations can fall into the hands of their enemies due to secret and shameful strategies that were discussed behind closed doors only between those involved, without any proper oversight that shines a light.

From the very young and innocent, from the mouths of babes, utterances of what’s actually right, children are known to express fear of the dark. As many grow older, this concept is taught to be wrong, and they become less afraid of the dark. And yet, though maybe not explicitly taught, become more afraid of the light for fear of what might be found. This, yet another human practice that opposes the ways of God, when thought of on the spiritual and moral levels. I say this not to suggest that we should literally live in fear of the dark; for, fear isn’t of God. But, I say this to encourage a healthy concern regarding activities done in secret that are harmful to others and/or to a person’s self.

Luke 8:16 encourages us not to cover our light in saying; “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.” Those who operate in deeds of darkness won’t be pleased but peeved that the spotlight’s on them. But, John 3:20,21 reminds us that “Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.” So beloved, if you’ve been positioned for such a time as this, to shine the light on some areas that could mend a relationship, release & heal the abused, or to save a country from destruction brought upon it as a result of dark deeds conducted from within, let your light so shine, no matter how much those who walk in darkness fight you.

Know, The Lord is on your side. May He strengthen you by loosing His Spirit of Light and His Spirit of Truth to ensure you shine brightly for the entire time, and in every area, needed.

3 Reasons to Think Twice Before Participating in Some Practices of the Supernatural

Tarot cards, ouija boards, horoscopes, mediums, spiritualist, horror movies, crystal balls, oh my…!

Unlike the lion in “The Wizard of Oz”, revealed a lovable harmless encounter, in reality, some elements of the supernatural are something to beware of as much as a real life wild lion.

As humans, we are hungry to know what the future holds. Hungry for power, provision, protection, and peace of mind. But, some don’t realize they’re hungry for the “Presence” of The One and Only Living God, wherein all of those things they’re hungry for, and more, are available. Yet, with much needed “regulation” for our own good, so to speak. Because searching higher spiritual things in ways that aren’t aligned with God’s ways can open portals of danger that can suck us in like black holes in the universe.

With Halloween nearing, The Lord brought back to my attention something He revealed to me on the day of Halloween of 2014.  During the 7am hour that morning, I heard, “I will teach you a doctrine that will make you suffer and writhe in pain.” This wasn’t the Lord Himself speaking to me but Him allowing me to hear the true intentions of Satan through certain spiritual practices, including the pagan celebration of Halloween, that have been orchestrated to lead us into darkness.

To understand more about why God wants us to be cautious so not to be drawn into what looks and sounds good and easy at the surface, let’s begin with Deuteronomy 18:10-11,13, in which The Lord lovingly informs His Children; “…Don’t try to learn what will happen in the future by talking to a fortuneteller or by going to a magician, a witch, or a sorcerer. Don’t let anyone try to put magic spells on other people. Don’t let any of your people become a medium or a wizard. And no one should try to talk with someone who has died…”

In God’s eyes these are occult practices, witchcraft, & divination, and violates His first commandment: “You shall have no other gods before me.”, in Exodus 20:3. Now, though God’s, self-admittedly, a Jealous God and He considers consulting other spiritual sources for our needs idolatry, there’s more to His asking us not to do that, than His just wanting us to Himself. Here are a few reasons getting involved with occult practices can be detrimental for us. The first is that it can present…

Detours Off Paths of Life

God speaks, but the devil speaks also!

As one who’s an Apologist by nature for the Gospel of Christ, I’ve had conversations with others who often believe we can use any tools, including any religion, and access the same God. But, we’re explicitly informed in John 14:6 by Jesus that “…No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” What I kindly and respectfully caution each is to keep in mind, God is a Spirit, but He’s only “one” spirit. There are many other spirits out there too, harboring intentions contrary the goodness of God’s Spirit, because they’re evil. And, because they’re so, they can be deceptive, such as demons posing as Angels of Light, pretending to help while leading people who access them, down the wrong path, away from God. In 1 Chronicles 21:1, that says; “Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.”, we see King David being led to do something against God’s Will because he was being led by the voice of Satan, and didn’t seem to recognize it until it was too late.

When you access the spirit realm in ways God didn’t approve, you may speak to spirits seemingly of God, but aren’t and thus, gives you the devil’s agenda for your life instead of God’s, causing you to abandon God and His Ways, if you choose to follow. The Lord cautions His people, in Deuteronomy 12:30,31 ERV; “…be careful that you don’t fall into the same trap they did! Don’t go to their false gods for help… These people do all kinds of bad things that the Lord hates. They even burn their children as sacrifices to their gods!”

Deuteronomy 12:31 NIV, says it a bit differently; “You must not worship the Lord your God in their way…” Which is essentially saying, don’t even worship The Lord using pagan practices, because it’ll lead you to oppose God’s Will. Since the days of the Levite Priests, God’s given us His approved tools, which included Urim & Thummim for temple priests, along with prayer, praise, reading of His Word, most of which we still use today.

Accessing the spirit realm can make you feel quite powerful. Yet, when done with God, He gradually matures you by practice so you grow to recognize differences between good and evil, states Hebrews 5:14. For, dabbling in the occult can make it appear like a person has spiritual power resembling God’s but comes instead from a counterfeit Holy Spirit, which is simply an indwelling evil spirit. See Acts 16:16-18 for an excellent example solidifying that it’s not only important to avoid occult practices, but also to grow continuously in The Lord to be enabled to discern who has His authentic Holy Spirit versus is being led by an evil spirit. Be careful of falling for hyped touts of power, for not all power is God’s power. And, when God’s not in it, we can get…

Drawn Towards Making Greater Unhealthy Sacrifices

These supernatural tools can, for some, have a “gateway drug” effect, and people go searching for more powerful methods of accessing the spirit realm, creating a dependency on them, instead of on God. This can cost a person some of the most important parts of themselves, and who they are.

Leviticus 20:6 is another cautionary Scripture where The Father warns us; “Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.” When you prostitute yourself, you’re giving up precious valuable elements within yourself to get something, no where near your worth, in return. To keep a long explanation short; God asks us to sacrifice ways of life that degrades us, but the devil asks us to sacrifice blessings in life, such as dignity, integrity, innocence, freedom, & peace, just to get what his methods claim they can get for us.

Another factor to keep in mind that helps to stand strong against the pull of unhealthy supernatural encounters is that…

Doorways to the Inner Spirit are the Eyes and Ears

One most noted times I remember, after recommitting my life to Christ, was watching horror movies and gory shows, and feeling extremely uncomfortable. Not convicted, just extremely disturbed by discomfort. What I eventually realized was that the Holy Spirit who was now working in me, was grieved by ungodly spirits I was allowing in my atmosphere and spirit, with which God dwelled. I remember sitting on my couch one night after about the third time that happened, saying to myself; “I have to stop watching these shows.” And, so I did.

Romans 10:17 mentions that “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It’s what we see and hear that can influence us. Thus, there’s a need to regulate the gateways to our souls.

There’s so much more regarding accessing the spirit realm, tapping into the supernatural! What I pray for you, and any connected to you, is that you seek The Lord for whatever it is you hunger. For Jesus tells us in John 6:35, “… ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” And Psalm 107:9 says of The Lord; “for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” In the Presence of The Lord, you have all you need: Peace, Power, Provision, Protection, Perseverance. And the one trait it gives you above all the other methods of obtaining these, is control over instant gratification with: Patience. With all that, and more, beloved, you are Blessed!

Have you recently considered, or begun, reaching out to supernatural practices outside of God, to discover what’s going to happen in the near future in any area of your life?

If so, I’d love for you to learn how to seek God directly for your desires and needs. For, I’ve often said Divine Revelation Begets Self-Revelation. And, now, It’s Your Time!

Take Part in the Master’s Happiness in the Work You Do

How would you describe how you feel about the work you do? It’s my hope for you that your answer would be similar to: “I look forward to going to work on a Monday morning with genuine enthusiasm!”; “Most things I think & say about my work are great things!”; “I enjoy what I do so much that, despite what’s going on in my life, I make the time & take the effort to do it and I’m fulfilled at doing it.”; (And, this one seals the deal) “I love what I do so much I’d do it for free or a little of nothing in many situations!” If your response conveys anything stark opposite of all of these, you may be living beneath your Kingdom of God Inheritance when it comes to the work you do!

Over my lifetime, I’ve had many different jobs, in various industries, such as; supermarket cashier, bank teller, wholesale insurance assistant claims adjuster, and IT professional. Though, for a couple of those, I once loved them, none fulfills me like what I do now as a Life Coach. Job and career changes are common among most people, for a plethora of reasons. Often embarking on a search for either increased compensation, greater autonomy, or career advancement. Sometimes, it’s to find relief from a job or career that’s the bane of their existence, all the while unaware that they’re actually searching for purpose.  And, then there are some who remain at one job for several decades. Though at times, not necessarily because they love what they do, but maybe because they’re too apprehensive to pursue what really fuels a fiery fervor within. Perhaps you, beloved, have simply thought it’s more important to be grateful for what you have than to pursue a job or career you enjoy. And, yes, gratefulness is a correct and commendable attitude. But, what if I told you that God wants you to be grateful, AND… enjoy the work you do, too?

Ephesians 2:10 conveys that each of us, including you, are here for a purpose, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.” These good works may not always be related to what we do as a vocation, yet, I believe that under God’s plan for our lives, liking what we do to make a living results from how He created us with strengths and weaknesses, which aligns with our likes and dislikes that come naturally to who we are at our core. As The Lord told Jeremiah, before He formed you in your mother’s womb, He knew you. He knew what He was preparing and equipping you to do once you arrived and thrive forward here. Thus, what allows us to be ourselves is doing that which is most fitting to our unique makeup, sparking joy and fulfillment inside of us. The wisest person who ever existed, King Solomon, stated it best in Ecclesiastes 3:22, “So I perceived there is nothing better than for people to enjoy their work, because that is their reward; for who can show them what the future holds?”

Feeling joyful in your work helps you to stay in the now, not wishing you had something to make you happy from the work of your days behind, nor spending endless waking hours wishing you can have something different in the days ahead. When I was a young girl, my friends and I often bought candy called Now & Later. They came in a package of individually wrapped pieces to make it easy to snack on periodically.  The idea was to eat some of it now, and save some for later.  I liken that to having sweet vocation now, not only to have a sweet one later, but it keeps you looking forward to building upon what you do in your work today because you know it’s building a better tomorrow. For the seed you plant and cultivate today, can bloom beyond what you ever imagine it to be as God gives the increase.

Now yes, additionally, truth is, there are times you may need to take a job of integrity because you have responsibilities to take care of, whether it’s a family and/or bills for possessions and services because what you’d prefer just doesn’t seem to be happening as quickly as you’d like. Thus, positions that are available at that time, may not appear to be ideal to the Divine dream you’ve been given. Does that mean you don’t take it? Not always, and here’s why: Colossians 3:23,24 “Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”  And, because of that, keep in mind that The Lord can still work out that Divine dream through that seemingly unrelated job. Thus, that means you also don’t have to stay there, if you know that’s not where you’re ultimately are supposed to be!

To illustrate my point, first, most of the world wouldn’t relate a position as a Shepherd of Sheep to the likes of being King of a Nation, without having looked into the positions and their duties deeper. Yet, the transferable skills that David gained while a Shepherd of sheep prepared him to guide, provide, nurture, and protect people. Second, the Prophet Samuel anointed David as King soon after King Saul was made King. David, however, had to go through a series of experiences to prepare for that Kingly position, and in the process, among other valuable pieces of wisdom, he learned what kind of King NOT to be as he dodged the antagonistic ways of one that was unbearable to work for. I say all this to say, the position you are currently in, or may need to take, that is unrelated to your dream, is NOT the end! It may be used by God as part of the process to prepare you for what you would rather have! So, even while in it, DON’T give up, but keep on working towards your dream in other ways, willing to be prepared to eventually Go Up in all God has for you!

In doing this, it’ll give you incentive on doing what needs to be done in a way that you don’t bury the talents God gave you under a pile of fear and/or complacency. You can learn to enjoy even the less than ideal job because you’ll begin to understand how The Lord is using it to polish you, to enable you to shine the brightest when you get that ideal position.  Because most importantly, it can ready you for promotion into what you’re Divinely created to do, willing and powerfully equipped to do the work with excellence!  It’s that elevation to the next level The Lord, our Master, will annouce to you, as said in Matthew 25:23; “… ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your Master!’”

I’d love to hear from you!
~~ What kind of work do you do?
~~ How do you feel about the relation of the work you do to your Divine purpose or calling? [i.e. fitting or unrelated]
