Life by the Light of the Eye

cross-blue-lightCropped436x245“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12 NIV

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.” Matthew 6:22 NIV

Give praise to The Lord our Savior, in commemoration of God’s gift of His only Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us so long ago on the cross. This gratitude can be lived throughout the year, in a life full of hope, vision, and faith-backed victories, as well as celebrated during the Easter season.

The eye, which Jesus didn’t go into detail about but knew how He made us, works as light is reflected off of what we look at, in this case your focal point is Jesus. The light enters the eye, which reflects the image seen, into the optic nerve. As a telephone or cable line, the optic nerve, transforms this image into neural pulses and sends it to the brain. The brain processes these impulses & shows the image to your mind. In this analogy, think of the optic nerve as The Holy Spirit & the brain as God. You look at everyone & everything in the Light of Jesus, the Holy Spirit transforms your perception of others, yourself, and life events. As a result, God shows you possibilities beyond what you could ever imagine on your own of what you can become and achieve in His image. Any gloominess that has overshadowed areas of your life can be overcome with Jesus’ light. Events, that had once eclipsed your view of possibilities and opportunities to transcend them, lose their opacity.

The significant importance of this wonderful Truth is that Jesus’ death and resurrection was what enables you to see His light and receive His Holy Spirit which is our connection to God. The word light is used in several places in the Bible that points out what else you get along with the priceless gift of eternal life as you walk in Jesus’ Light. You are Illuminated, enabling you to see God’s guidance. The Favor of God rests upon you in that He has forgiven you your sins upon confession & repentance, and His blessings are abundant. Galatians 5:1 NIRV says “Christ has set us free. He wants us to enjoy freedom…” So, you now have a wonderful chance to live a life of freedom & Well-being, filled with peace & joy. Jesus’ death opened an access point that was previously closed off from us, allowing you to live in God’s Presence daily and pray directly to Him. Additionally, now you can be a conduit of light, a Light-giver of forgiveness, mercy, and God’s love to those around you, as well as to yourself.

It is my prayer, in the Name of Jesus, that you continuously look to and walk in the Light of Jesus, and see all areas of your life transform before your eyes!
