“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it…” Isaiah 43:19 MSG
Through the eyes of God, can you see the potential in you? There are bright possibilities, open views, room for expansion, and high valued materials placed within you! Whether you were originally built to embody corporations or cover people in comfort, you’ve been marvelously created with intention.
There may have been things in life that have prompted you take on the task of DIY (do it yourself) builder, putting up a few walls where there shouldn’t be any, and boarding up broken windows to keep stormy elements out. Now it’s difficult to see out into and over the horizon. Or, possibly you may be unable to let others in, fearing they will see a permanent stain of something you spilled on your floors long ago.
You have so much greatness within you that is squirming in discomfort to be lived, but it requires you to move past the fear of encountering unwanted detours in your future; to move past mistakes that you weren’t able to mop up. Remember, God is in the business of creating something new and wonderful out of what you may see as depreciated. There’s no mistake; small, big, huge, or colossal, that can keep you from living the life you can live in Christ. He has the power to help you put it behind you and move you forward! It also, means that even if there is a mistake made in the future, He can help you through the consequences, for God never changes and He’ll help you again. He makes ways to get you to where He created you to be even when you can’t see a way. Even now as you may be sitting in a room without sunlight, you serve a God of second chances, who is able to rebuild in the midst of any circumstance, even in times of trouble!
“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.” Matthew 7:24-27 MSG
In any renovation, there must be a vision; a view of the desired outcome. God’s begun yours. Can you see it?! If not, begin the process by handing the role of Architect, which is one who designs custom plans for safety and accessibility, over to God, allowing Him to blueprint the foundation to build your life upon. When Jesus was here in the flesh, He was a Carpenter before He began His ministry. Become His apprentice, and begin renovating with the tools He gives you in His Word. Trust and ask Him to help you to see all that He sees in you. As you do this, just as you would do with viewing a physical property, assess the structure of your life by asking yourself questions, such as; “What am I aching to change?” “What would God want me to let go of to allow room for new possibilities?” “What can I do with what I have right now?” “What is the first tangible step I need to take to move past my fears?” Then listen for the answers deep within, and when He gives you the answers take the step in active faith. Keep in mind, it’s all a process, and all changes cannot be made at once. Allow God’s perfect love to drive back your fears of moving forward, remembering that no weapon formed against you shall prosper in the face of obstacles. With prayer, Divinely ordered plans, and patience, you will soon be looking at pictures of before and after, seeing how God’s vision for you has come to pass!
