You’re Still Favored in a Faith Fight

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14 NIV

God’s favor hasn’t left you! Often, when encountering troublesome times in life, you may think God is angry with you. Remember that God is Love, thus His love is endless and perfect.  Difficult times are used by Him to take you to the next stage in life; to help you to grow out of the old and into the new you.  There are things God has planned for you to do that you won’t be able to do in your old form.

For example, in order for a caterpillar to become a butterfly, it must go through a very lonely and dark stage in its cocoon.  Something you may not realize is how painful it may feel when a caterpillar’s old body breaks down to its essential elements.  The contents of the cocoon in the midst of this process is very different than the caterpillar that entered it.  It is fragile, vulnerable, and not all together yet.  It cannot resist going into this stage to remain a caterpillar all its life.  And, in order to get through to the next stage, it cannot give up in the midst of the painful transition.  As it completes this stage, it’s protected and provided for in various ways.

The caterpillar doesn’t worry, fear, or try to avoid it by going around another way.  It is taken care of by God who freely gives His grace and favor.  Jesus reminds us that God takes care of tiny creatures such as this, so don’t worry because He’ll take great care of you as His child!  Caterpillars are meant to fly someday, and so are you!

Allow God’s favor to rest on you by honoring His Will and trusting Him to be who He is; provider, healer, protector; for He is faithful and trustworthy.  Believe that no matter what happens in the midst of your faith fight, God has the best plans in store for you.  Pray to Him, wait on Him, and listen daily for His guidance.  And before you know it, you’ll break out of your cocoon, fully equipped with all you need to rise to new heights!
